compiled a list of golden rules.

As a freelance Courier delivering a service YOU are the
product and you have to sell your services to people by
selling yourself first. In plain English - when people
like you, they’ll do business with you. People want to
know that you are flexible with your service so you can
cater for their individual needs.

Make it easy for people to contact you by clearly
showing people your contact details on your business
cards or correspondence letters. Being readily
accessible reassures people.

Build rapport with people and establish your
credibility early on when you are in contact with
potential customers. This could be by showing prospects
other happy customers you have done work for. Be sure to
feature this on your website.

Follow up after you have done a delivery for a client
and ask if they were satisfied with your service. If
they were, ask their permission to mention their
business and testimonial on your website. Let them know
you would like to pop a letter in the mail to get their
approval in writing and if it’s ok. Customers will be
more than happy to provide you with this very valuable
information especially if you have done a great job for
them.

Encourage customer word of mouth. Example: Let’s say
you have just done a delivery for a customer selling
Jewellery. You delivered the parcel for the customer in
double time and then you call in some time again to ask
if he were satisfied with your service. There you have
it!
