Owner Drivers - Why You Should Ask Yourself The RIGHT

I started out in the Industry I had many frustrations as
I'm sure most new owner drivers will experience. Looking
for
courier jobs
that pay well, and contacting companies for work
sometimes proved a bit fruitless at times.
I learned a very valuable lesson back then I would like
to share with you today. Let me begin by asking you this
question... How much is: 3 + 17 ?
Did the answer 20 jump to your mind the moment you saw
the PROBLEM? Why do you think that happened? It happened
because I presented a problem to you in the form of a
QUESTION and because your brain MUST answer questions
given to it, it responded AUTOMATICALLY with an answer.
For example if you say to yourself, why I am I so
over-weight? You'll instantly think about all the take-aways,
pizza etc. Many over weight people make this mistake by
asking the WRONG QUESTIONS to themselves and that is why
they don't get the right answers.
If you were to ask yourself: "How can I loose this
weight?" Then your brain will AUTOMATICALLY search for
solutions to the problem being presented to it --in this
case, being over weight.
Maybe something like "Exercise more, Cut out on Pizza's
Go for a light Jog etc." But what does all this have to
do with owner drivers and drivers jobs? I've used the
examples to show you how your brain responds when
presented with a question. When I started out, I quickly
learned that I have to ask the right questions to myself
in order to be effective.
For example, I did not ask myself:
"Why I am I getting so little responses back from
courier companies after I have sent out letters?"
I asked myself this instead:
"HOW can I get more responses from courier companies I'm
planning on sending letters out?"
With my knowledge of creating multi-media marketing
tools I started having "light bulb" moments to a point
where I could not even sleep at night from excitement!
If you ask your brain a "WHY Question" it will respond
with a lame answer that holds no solutions. If you ask
your brain a "HOW Question" You force your brain to
think of solutions thus releasing the creative energy in
your brain to work on your behalf.
The problem most new owner drivers have is the slow
response rate courier companies get back to them about
courier jobs. Have it occurred to
you that your letter might be one of 100 they receive
every single week?
HOW.. (Read the question again!!!) HOW are you
going to make sure yours get read and not binned?
When you ask questions like this you will come up with
creative ways of solving problems you might face in your
business.
Remember, there are many reason why people are poor but
lack of opportunity is not one of them.
